This past Sunday, over 150 Jewish children of Queens enjoyed a festive post-Chanuka event at the Queens Jewish Center of Forest Hills, co-sponsored by the Hebrew Academy of West Queens and JEP of Queens. Organized by Rabbi Abrahams and Mr. Geltzer of HAWQ and Rabbi Yaakov Finestone of JEP, the program featured live music, Jewish crafts, delicious refreshments, exciting raffle prizes, and enthralling entertainment by juggler, magician, and comedian Ned Gelfars.

The children listened attentively to a meaningful Chanuka story told by Rabbi Finestone. They were greeted by Rabbi Abrahams, who encouraged JEP participants to seek a Yeshiva education at the Hebrew Academy of West Queens in Forest Hills. It is the hope of Rabbi Finestone and Rabbi Abrahams that more events such as this, will serve as a means to recruit more public school children into the doors of Yeshivot in Queens and strengthen their Jewish identity.
